The Problem

An operator in the Permian was using 2 spherical style sand separators on their wellsite. However, this equipment was ineffective, allowing a lot of sand to enter and damage their facility equipment. In addition, they didn’t have an accurate way to quantify the sand because it was getting past the spherical sand separators.

They were looking for a better sand management solution that could capture the majority of sand coming from the wellstream.

The Solution

EnerCorp’s team of engineers reviewed the wellsite, paying special attention to the range of flow rates for oil, water, and gas, and the varying wellhead pressures, solid and sand particle sizes, and anticipated sand volumes.

Our team determined that the best sand management solution for this well was the Sahara Advanced Sand Cyclone, which can capture greater than 97% of sand.


The Results

The Sahara Advanced Sand Cyclone performed even better than expected, capturing 100% of sand from the production stream—and quantified the sand accurately. This enabled the operator to maintain the engineer-designed choke schedule without any interruptions.

This new customer is now an EnerCorp customer for life. They never have to worry about the integrity of their field equipment because of how effective the Sahara Advanced Sand Cyclone is.
