Sahara Advanced Cyclone reduces damage charges in the Haynesville by capturing over 99% of sand
Location: Haynesville Shale
The Problem
The Solution
After reviewing the specific conditions of their well, our engineers determined that this was a job for the Sahara Advanced Cyclone. We created a fit-for-purpose solution on site which included:
- Plug catcher
- Sahara Advanced Cyclone
- Manifold
- 4-Phase Separator
EnerCorp utilized a 15,000 psi-rated Sahara Advanced Cyclone as part of the flowback setup, with a 4-phase separator downstream. This setup was specifically engineered to capture the maximum amount of sand in the production stream, so that virtually no sand would be in the production stream past the Sahara — considerably reducing damage-related expenses.
The Results
Over the course of the 16-day flowback, the Sahara Advanced Cyclone captured well over 99% of the sand produced on this well. The result? Minimal washed parts downstream of the Sahara. A photo of the stem on the separator dump valve is shown to the right – it is in like-new condition post-job showing no wear or damage.
With the Sahara Advanced Cyclone, this client was ensured that no sand was making it to the production facility — reducing damages to the permanent facility and eliminating any need for cleanout operations and the associated cost.
