At EnerCorp, we had the privilege of sponsoring a lunch for the wrap-up of the CWB Mind over Metal welding camp. This incredible initiative, which began as a two-week pilot in 2014, has grown into 250 camps reaching over 5,000 youth across Canada.
Mike Britton and Nicole Allan shared their journeys in the welding industry, highlighting the opportunities that a career in welding can offer. Their insights underscored the camp’s mission: to change perceptions of welding and related trades by providing hands-on learning that builds confidence and self-esteem.
It’s amazing to see how these camps ignite passion and focus in young people, encouraging them to pursue welding careers through secondary, post-secondary, and apprenticeship pathways. By showcasing real-world applications and success stories, these camps help students envision a future in a trade they might not have considered otherwise.
We’re proud to support such an impactful program that invests in the next generation of skilled professionals.
