Our Production Fabrication shop in Grande Prairie works with our customers to manufacture custom production equipment, and we take pride in the craftsmanship shown by our top-of-the-line welders. Not just any welding certificate allows a welder to work on pressure vessels in Alberta – they are required to be a B-pressure welder.

To become a B-pressure welder in Alberta, first you need to become a Journeyman Welder, which is a 3-year apprenticeship program with on the job training and 6 months of schooling (3 terms of schooling, 2 months each). Once you have completed the apprenticeship program and graduate to a Journeymen, you can complete an additional weld test through ABSA (Alberta Boiler Safety Association) to become a pressure welder which certifies you to weld on pressure piping and pressure vessels. In Alberta, this is called a “B-Pressure Certificate”

Once hired on at EnerCorp, B-pressure welders need to pass (4) additional weld test to qualify them to our welding procedures and processes, such as GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) , FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and MCAW (Metal Core Arc Welding).

Thank you to all of our B-pressure welders for working daily to deliver our innovative products to our customers.
