Don’t you love it when a team member takes the initiative to further their learning on a topic that not only makes the company better, but improves their personal knowledge!?
This is exactly what our General Manager of Fabrication, Ryan O’ Toole, did recently by becoming qualified to conduct an internal audit to maintain our Certificate of Recognition (COR) in between external audits.
The COR is a voluntary program and to qualify for it, your HSE System must first undergo an external audit. The audit is reviewed by the ACSA and has to meet quality assurance standards before it can be approved. Courses Ryan had to complete were: Principles of HSE Management, Leadership for Safety Excellence, Alberta OHS Legislation Awareness, and Auditor Training Program.
