Summer is in full swing, and so our the hammers of our rig-up crew. It is important those teams working in the heat focus on staying cool and hydrated over the summer months to avoid heat related illness.

Here are some ways to prevent heat illness:

    Know the signs and symptoms of heat illnesses

    • Headache, dizziness or fainting
    • Weakness and wet skin
    • Irritability or confusion
    • Thirst, nausea, vomiting
    • Confusion or passing out
    • Trembling or shaking
    • Stopped sweating

    Monitor yourself and use a buddy system

    Drink fluids often and before you are thirsty. Drink water every 15 minutes

    Avoid beverages containing alcohol or caffeine

    Wear lightweight, light colored, loose-fitting clothes
